Software

  • Cepstral speech-synthesizer: generate the robot-lyrics to your latest dance-anthem!
  • Martin Hairer wrote ‘Amadeus’ a very nice little wave-editor for OSX. When Wavelab and AudioDeck are a bit to much this is it. Real cheap too!
  • Rustykat; tuners for your mac.
  • Can you say ‘Sinusoidal Partial Editing Analysis and Resynthesis’? Maybe not, but Spear does it every time!
  • Ableton, creators of the wonderful midi and audio live sequencer performance software thingy…
  • Propellerheads‘ Reason is the ultimate synthesizer workstation for your computer. Forget VST-instruments and get happy patching synths, effects, sequencers and what not as long as your cpu will take it. Which, actually, is surprisingly long! Most tracks on this website were done with only reason!
  • Linplug, well-known for the Albino softsynth designed by Rob Papen, have some nice other synths as well: I use the Alpha, Cronox3, and Octopus in Ableton Live and I think the’re great! What I like especially is they are rather easy on the cpu.
  • Logic Studio is the latest incarnation of the famous sequencer plus a bunch of very impressive softwareinstruments and effects. It also includes Main Stage for using the instruments and effects live, Waveburner cd-burning software and Soundtrack Pro for editing and mastering.
